Mary E. Desmond represents clients in a comprehensive range of environmental and administrative law matters. Her practice includes litigating claims under CERCLA, RCRA, the New York State Navigation Law and common law; resolving environmental law enforcement actions brought by State and Federal Governments; and providing advice on a wide range of administrative law requirements and permitting procedures both in the environmental area and other regulatory areas. She is motivated by her passion for the complex and rapidly changing field of administrative and environmental law, and her dedication to putting the clients’ interests first. With every client, whether it be a Fortune 500 Company or pro bono client, Mary strives to get the best possible results by providing technically accurate, creative and efficient legal services. Since joining N.W. Bernstein & Associates, Mary has put these values to work, obtaining favorable outcomes for her clients in federal court, and in negotiations with state, municipal, and federal agencies. Mary is committed to public service and providing legal services to underserved communities. For example, in 2015, Mary was recognized for her work providing legal assistance to low income New Yorkers whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy with the Pro Bono Publico award from the Legal Aid Society. Mary joined N.W. Bernstein & Associates in 2015 with over a decade of litigation experience at a prominent international law firm in New York City, and a Federal Judicial Clerkship.
